Royal North West Mounted Police post
The Royal North West Mounted Police post at Cape Fullerton (Qatiktalik) moved to Chesterfield Inlet in 1914, when early whaling era declined of the Euro-American whaler’s in the region. That followed Inuit families for trade/ wage income in the area; and the first establishment of Roman Catholic Mission, and the Hudson’s Bay Company post in Chesterfield Inlet during the early fur pelt trade industry in the region/ north.
Cape Fullerton post was used part-time for many years, as a stop on patrols to Inuit camps along the coast and inland by dog team or boat.
